After much experimentation and trial and error I have managed to create two standalone voice packages to provide relief from the only TTS English Nuance voice available (Samantha US). These two packages will happily coexist with any other Nuance voice package. VoiceTTS-nua-Eng-uk-Holly V1.5: - This package is based on the original work of tonypants at MobilePassion. This originally replaced the existing Samantha US package but was not standalone.

It is now a standalone package based on the TomTom vocalizer package. It can be downloaded from this link: You are not allowed to view links. VoiceTTS-nua-Eng-au-Karen V1.1: - This package is my own work and is based on the TomTom vocalizer package of the same name. It can be downloaded from this link: You are not allowed to view links. Just extract the contents of each package to your primo folder and select the voice under More / Settings / Sounds and Warnings / Voice Language in Primo.
I have not at this stage made any alterations to the rules relating to these voices so they may well require some tweaking. I leave it up to each user to make their own adjustments. Note that the folder ttsnuav5 enu phoneme is not transferred to the new packages as it designed for the US voice only and sounds funny when used with the other voices. Here are updated versions of the voice files for each version containing fixes for highwar instead of motorway and other minor fixes. Just download and replace the existing zip file under Primo Content Voice with the new file. VoiceTTS-nua-Eng-uk-Holly V1.5: - You are not allowed to view links. VoiceTTS-nua-Eng-au-Karen V1.2: - You are not allowed to view links.
If you have downloaded a VocalizerTTS computer voice from somewhere else. TomTom ONE v1, Navcore 9.170SE, 32Mb RAM, Australia. Nope it is a LoquendoTTS voice but requires far less power and Ram. The 9.510 with auto power on can easily be found over my profile - search started threads. Unfortunately, I appears that the latest update I can download with HOME on my 8.01 Navcore is 6.91. Does the TomTom look for a certain file in the version 7 folder? The two versions look quite a bit different from a folder structure standpoint. I feel like it would have a good shot at working if I could just get the version 7 voice to show up.
Note: These voices as is will only work in Primo v1.0 or v1.1. To use these voices in Primo v1.2 please follow the instructions given You are not allowed to view links. Cheers, Ian Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic! @Ian G'day Ian. I had nuance voices working previously with the Samantha US voice. I had tried tonypants' modded version with Holly but found many aussie names well butchered and reverted to Samantha. So I do have the vautov5.dll file in the Primo folder.
On downloading your nuance files, they are automatically un-zipped, leaving a folder with 15 files one of which, the voice file, I placed in the contentsvoice folder. I notice there's a vautov5.dll file in your folder too. Should that one replace the original file in the Primo folder, or stay where it is? I'm not quite sure what you mean as far as automatically extracts goes. However you need to extract the folders and the single dll file to your Primo folder so that the folder structure is identical to that within the zip file. If some of the files already exist from a previous installation of other voices they can be either replaced or left as is.
@spookie, Yes you can install as many other voices as you like. Each voice package has it's own folder structure Karen is ena, Holly is eng, Samantha is enu. If you look at the original nuance package you will see they are all different.
Remember each package has some common stuff which is the same for each package, so you can either keep the existing files or overwrite them. As far as I am aware Nuance voices won't work under WinCE 4.2, you need to use the Loquendo package with the correct dll files.
